**West Ham are looking to tie down Dinos Mavropanos to a new contract following his excellent season, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**
The Greek international, who not too long ago was considered a fringe player in the squad in east London, has established himself now as a key player in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Despite the season being spent at the bottom end of the table battling relegation, Mavropanos has stepped up and is now seen as a key figure and reason for the upturn in performances since the turn of the year, with the club now keen to make the player as more ‘high profile’ figure at the club.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, our club insider has advised that talks are set to commence at the end of the season or once our league status is confirmed.
“West Ham are readying a new deal for Mavropanos following his personally impressive season,” stated Ex.
“The club feel he’s now stepping up into a more senior role within the squad under Nuno and it’s felt he deserves to be rewarded now as a higher profile player.”
As was stressed by Ex though, everyone is fully focussed on our relegation battle and everything is on hold until we know our fate.
