Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has cast doubt over Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali making a summer move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are set to be in the market to sign a new midfielder with Casemiro set to leave the club at the end of the season and Tonali has been linked with making the move to the north west.
The Italian international is under contract at St James' Park until the summer of 2029, with Newcastle holding an option to extend the deal until 2030.
It leaves them in a strong bargaining position for any sale this summer, after CEO David Hopkinson admitted the club may sell one of their star players.

Tonali has established himself as one of the leading midfielders in the Premier League since his £55million move from AC Milan in 2023 and Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are said to be monitoring his situation in the summer.
But Robson, who enjoyed 13 successful years at Old Trafford as a player, has questioned why Newcastle would sell Tonali this summer and believes Nottingham Forest's former Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson should be Michael Carrick's side's first choice instead.
"He would be my first choice," Robson told the Tippy Tappy Football podcast when asked about Anderson.
"We aren't going to get [Declan] Rice so Anderson would be my first choice to come to United. I am disappointed we are going to lose Casemiro because I think he is a really good player.

"When people are talking about Tonali, I just can't understand why Newcastle would allow him to leave.
"You've got him but there has got to be out there in Europe, in South America with the Brazilians and Argentinians, who has got to be a really good player. There's always great players from that side of the world.
"So the scouts have got to do their job when they look to replace him and that is what we have not been good with over the last few years until last summer when we got some really good players in."
