Nottingham Forest star misses training ahead of Europa League clash with Porto

Nottingham Forest face Porto tomorrow night, looking to progress to the semi-final of the Europa League.

The score is tied at 1-1 after last week’s first leg in Porto, and there is all to play for in the second leg at the City Ground.

🔢How many points do Forest take from this run of fixtures…

Vitor Pereira’s team play Burnley on Sunday in a must-win Premier League game, and as a result, it will be fascinating to see what team the head coach picks for the clash with Porto.

Ahead of the clash on Trentside, some worrying Forest team news has surfaced, with one star player missing training on the eve of the quarter-final.

Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson misses training

The Forest players have been spotted being put through their paces ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Porto but Anderson isn’t with the team.

Local journalist Jak Netting was down at the training ground this morning and reported the absence on social media, citing personal reasons for him missing out.

Anderson has been instrumental to the Forest team this season and also played a massive part in the Reds finishing seventh in the top-flight last season.

The hope will be that Anderson is able to return in time for tomorrow’s game, and it remains to be seen what decision Pereira will now make, given that he’s not trained with the group ahead of Porto.

Forest aren’t solely reliant on Anderson in the middle of the park, with Nicolas Dominguez or Ryan Yates ready to deputise should it come to that.

However, Anderson is a fantastic player and after missing the first leg through suspension, Forest would dearly love to be able to call upon him on home soil tomorrow night.

Pereira will want his best players available as many times as possible between now and the end of the season and he will naturally be hopeful of Anderson being available tomorrow.
