Crystal Palace now want to sign both Frank Lampard and "amazing" Coventry City star

Crystal Palace now want to sign Coventry City star Milan van Ewijk this summer, with Steve Parish also keen on appointing Frank Lampard as Oliver Glasner's successor.

Palace ramping up pursuit of Glasner replacement

With the end of the season, and thus Glasner's exit, edging ever closer, Palace have been intensifying their pursuit of a new manager, and they have identified a number of potential candidates for the role.

Interestingly, the door could now be open for the Eagles to appoint Iraola, as the Spaniard recently announced his intention to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, but he is in high demand, with Liverpool and Manchester United expressing an interest.

As such, Parish may have to move on to more realistic targets, and the chairman is an admirer of Coventry boss Lampard, who is on the cusp of leading the Sky Blues to promotion to the Premier League in his first full season in charge.

As you'd expect, the Championship promotion-hopefuls want to keep hold of the 47-year-old, and he remains under contract at the CBS Arena until the summer of 2027.

Coventry keen on signing Millan van Ewijk alongside Lampard

It remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace are able to lure Lampard to Selhurst Park, but they are also keen on raiding the soon-to-be Premier League side for one of their key players.

That is according to a report from Sports Boom, which states Palace hold a firm interest in signing Van Ewijk, with the right-back playing a key part in the Sky Blues' promotion push, missing just two Championship games all season.

Crystal Palace are preparing for Oliver Glasner's departure at the end of the season.

Coventry could be set to hold out for £25m, amid widespread interest from the Premier League, with Brighton, Everton and AFC Bournemouth also keen.

It is no surprise the full-back is attracting so much interest, having chipped in with eight assists in the Championship, which is the highest number in the Coventry squad.

Lampard clearly has full faith in the defender too, who he singled out for plaudits at the back end of the 2024-25 campaign, saying: “He’s been absolutely amazing, he plays every game and has had a fantastic season for us.
