Manchester United's Leny Yoro endured a night to forget up against Dominic Calvert-Lewin on Monday, although the Leeds United striker isn't the only England international to have bettered the young defender this season.
Back in December, the 20-year-old was all at sea as Morgan Rogers ran riot at Villa Park, the Aston Villa hero scoring two almost identical goals to clinch a 2-1 victory for Unai Emery's men.
Yoro, operating as a right-sided centre-back, simply couldn't contain Rogers as the Three Lions star wreaked havoc in his roaming number ten role, culminating in one of the best 'Ref Cam' moments thus far.
Just a solitary Premier League goal has followed since then for the 23-year-old, yet with 52 goals and assists in 116 games under his belt under Emery to date, suitors - such as United - are set to come calling this summer.

Jude Bellingham was agonisingly close to joining in 2020. Declan Rice was a long-term target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Harry Kane was Erik ten Hag's top pick in 2023.

Time and again, in the years since the Old Trafford side's £80m investment in Harry Maguire, the club have missed out on the best English talent on the market, with it yet to be seen whether Rogers will join that list in the near future.
As reported by Ben Jacobs in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter this week, the ex-Middlesbrough man is an 'option' for Jason Wilcox and co, with a potential £80m exit from Villa on the cards this summer.
Rogers isn't the only target amid INEOS' left-wing search, however, with Jacobs also hinting that there have been talks held regarding Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, with the Senegalese sensation being 'discussed' as things stand.
The transfer insider did go on to state that prising the 26-year-old from the Merseysiders could be a tough ask, not least considering that United were previously shot down in their pursuit of fellow Toffees star, Jarrad Branthwaite.

That being said, it was reported at the start of the month that Ndiaye does want to make the move to Manchester, viewing the Red Devils as a 'dream' move by all accounts.
Why Ndiaye is just like Morgan Rogers
In the case of Rogers, he had to navigate something of a turbulent path to the top, having first been plucked from West Bromwich Albion by Manchester City as a mere 17-year-old.

After a string of loan spells, he departed the Etihad without making a competitive appearance, joining Boro in 2023 for a reported fee of just £1m.
It was in the Championship where the Halesowen-born gem truly exploded onto the scene, scoring and assisting 16 goals in just 33 games at the Riverside, during Michael Carrick's time at the helm.
Just over two years on from moving to Villa, Rogers is now an undoubted Premier League superstar, having rightly swept the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season.
While slightly older than his top-flight rival, there are certainly similarities with regard to Ndiaye's rise to date, having previously been in the academy at Non-League side, Boreham Wood, before joining Sheffield United in 2019.

That switch - which was also followed by a loan spell to Hyde United in the Northern Premier League - took time to come to fruition, with the France-born playmaker first gaining wider attention in 2021/22, after scoring seven Championship goals for the Blades.
After netting a further 14 the following season, a permanent move to Marseille was secured in 2023, while he has since sparkled across the last two years at Everton, scoring and assisting 20 goals in 65 games in all competitions.
Despite netting just six league goals in 2025/26, he is arguably "one of the best players in the Premier League", in the view of pundit Jamie O'Hara, mirroring Rogers in his ability to feature on either flank or in a number ten role.
Like Rogers too, there is a grace and silk to his game that is such a delight to watch, boasting that knack for being able to drag his side up the pitch, while possessing a real low centre of gravity to be able to fend off opposition defenders.
That can be seen in the fact that he averages 2.1 successful dribbles per game in the top-flight this season, while winning 1.2 fouls per game. Rogers, for comparison, is also fouled 1.2 times per game on average, albeit while recording a lesser average of just 1.1 with regard to dribbles.
Both men have had to work for their place at the elite level, but there's no question they deserve to be there, having emerged as talismanic figures for their respective clubs.

Adding one, or both, to the Old Trafford ranks would represent a real coup for the INEOS regime this summer.
