Richarlison and Romelu Lukaku strike partnership could actually be on for Everton (opinion)

Romelu Lukaku and Richarlison remain firm fan favourites at Everton despite leaving in 2017 and 2022 respectively.

The Belgian netted 87 goals in 166 games for the Toffees, while the Brazilian achieved a haul of 53 goals in 152 appearances – with both only leaving due to £75m and £60m bids from Manchester United and Tottenham.

However, those moves have not exactly worked out for Lukaku or Richarlison – and Everton actually have a realistic chance of pairing the two in attack together at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as a result.

Who would you rather see Everton sign this summer? 🤩

Tottenham and Napoli situations open the door for Everton to make dream double signing

Coincidentally, both forwards only have 12 months remaining on their respective contracts this summer.

Napoli have already decided to sell Lukaku after a falling out in Naples, caused by the Belgium international refusing to return to training in March.

With regard to Richarlison, the Brazil international is staring relegation in the face at Spurs, sitting two points off safety with six matches to go after a dismal run of 14 Premier League games without a win.

Even if the north Londoners manage to stay up, Richarlison would presumably be someone they look to offload before potentially losing the South American on a free transfer when his contract ends in 2027.

Everton asked about Lukaku as recently as January, so The Friedkin Group do have an interest in the 32-year-old.

Furthermore, sources have informed us here at Everton News that The Friedkin Group hold an active interest in Richarlison too.

No outlet has directly claimed that Everton would sign both attackers, but given the circumstances, deals could be possible for the pair of them, and the transfers would be unlikely to break the bank either due to their contract situations.

If you could bring back Richarlison or Lukaku this month, who would you go for? 👀

Be sure to keep an eye on both players, as Everton have a golden chance to sign at least one of Lukaku or Richarlison this summer.
