Federico Chiesa is reportedly expected to leave Liverpool this summer, joining Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson among the players heading toward the exit door as the club prepares for a major squad overhaul.
Liverpool are widely anticipated to undergo significant changes ahead of next season, with multiple senior players approaching the end of their cycles at Anfield and others struggling to cement key roles under Arne Slot.
Despite arriving with high expectations from Juventus FC in the summer of 2024, Federico Chiesa has struggled to establish himself as a trusted option under Slot since the Dutchman took over.
The Italian winger has played just 686 minutes across all competitions this season. It’s clear he is not a trusted member of Slot’s setup.
While Chiesa remains under contract at Liverpool until 2028, reports from The Athletic indicate that he is now expected to depart this summer as the club reshapes its attacking options.
The report explained: “With Salah and Andy Robertson leaving as free agents, another huge summer at Anfield awaits. Federico Chiesa is also expected to depart. Doubts remain over Gomez and Curtis Jones, given they only have one year remaining on their deals.”
If Ekitike is out for nine months and with Chiesa very likely to leave, Livepool's attacking options going into next season would currently be:
?? Alexander Isak
?? Cody Gakpo
??????? Rio Ngumoha
We badly, badly need some new additions.

Liverpool facing a challenging summer rebuild amid Robertson and Salah departures
Chiesa’s expected exit comes amid confirmed changes involving two of Liverpool’s most influential senior figures. His reported weekly wage of £150,000, according to Capology, also makes his situation significant from a financial standpoint, particularly if Liverpool are looking to free up space for new additions.
Salah is set to leave when his contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, bringing an end to one of the most successful individual eras in the club’s modern history.
Meanwhile, Robertson is also preparing to depart as a free agent once his current deal expires in the coming months.
Robertson has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s defensive structure for years, and his departure would mark another major shift within the dressing room leadership group.
Together, those exits point toward the closing of a significant chapter at Anfield, with a new cycle expected to begin under Slot if FSG keep faith with the struggling manager.

The departures may not stop with Salah, Robertson, and Chiesa either.
According to the same report, uncertainty also surrounds Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones, both of whom are entering the final year of their current contracts.
Liverpool must decide whether to extend their deals or risk losing them for reduced fees or potentially for free in the near future.
Those decisions are likely to form part of a wider evaluation of squad depth as the club prepares for another busy summer window – this time off the back of the worst season at Anfield since Brendan Rodgers’ final campaign before Jurgen Klopp took over.
