Predicted Everton XI vs Liverpool as David Moyes change could cause 'real threat' to Arne Slot

Everton face Liverpool for the first time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.

There is more than just history and bragging rights on the line, as Everton eye a spot in the Champions League for next season.

David Moyes has only been able to take a point from his three Merseyside Derby games since returning last year.

What is your prediction for this weekend’s Merseyside Derby? 🫣

Three points would be MASSIVE! 💪

However, the Toffees head into Sunday’s game in fine form and with some big decisions needing to be made when it comes to the starting XI.

Tyrique George hands David Moyes big Everton headache

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was so impressed with Tyrique George following his cameo appearance at the weekend against Brentford.

The winger came on for the final stages of the game and immediately offered something Dwight McNeil was not able to.

His performance leaves the question whether Moyes has seen enough from George to start him in possibly the biggest game of the season.

Before the weekend, George had played four minutes across the previous four games.

It would certainly be a big decision to start him in the Merseyside Derby, but Moyes admitted George performed well on Saturday.

James Tarkowski will retain Everton spot after Brentford error

Captain James Tarkowski played his role in Brentford’s opening goal, with a lack of concentration leading to poor positioning.

Some TalkingPoints users were left frustrated with the 33-year-old after the draw, with some even questioning his spot in the side.

Would you drop James Tarkowski for the Merseyside Derby? 😬

And if so, who are you replacing him with? 🫣

However, it is highly unlikely that Moyes will remove his on-field captain from the starting XI for the Merseyside Derby.

Tarkowski is focused on qualifying for Europe having played almost every minute of the Premier League campaign.

Seeing him drop out of the starting XI due to a poor performance at the weekend would be a huge shock.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall can lead Everton to victory

Everton have a number of match-winners in their side, with Beto even showing improved form in front of goal recently.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s signing has been a masterstroke for the Blues, but it is games like Sunday’s that he was brought in to make an impact.

The midfielder’s goal at the weekend was his seventh of the Premier League campaign.

Dewsbury-Hall insists Everton must make a statement against Liverpool and he is one of the players the fans will be looking to make an impact.

Predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, George; Beto.
