Leeds United head into the final six Premier League games sitting six points clear of the relegation zone and in a strong position to stay up.

Their 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford has completely shifted the mood, and there is growing belief they could secure safety as early as this weekend when Wolves visit Elland Road.

A victory there would go a long way towards guaranteeing another season in the Premier League, especially given the poor form of the teams below them.

On today’s episode of The Overlap, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, and the rest of the panel discussed the survival race and found themselves in agreement on one thing about Leeds United.

Keane and Neville reach an agreement over Leeds United and their relegation odds

Roy Keane was talking about Tottenham’s chances of survival and was banking on the north London club to finish outside the bottom three by the end of the season.

Gary Neville insisted Leeds are definitely not getting relegated and queried who will go down if Spurs climb out of the bottom three.

Neville questioned, “Who is going down if they’re staying up [Spurs]? Because Leeds are not going down now.”

Keane believes either Nottingham Forest or West Ham will go down, with the former’s European commitments likely to be a major distraction during the run-in.

“I think one of them will go down instead [Forest or West Ham].

“The European games will be a distraction for Forest.”

The Whites fans have plenty to look forward to

Daniel Farke had challenged his Leeds side to take something from Old Trafford, and they delivered with their first league win there in over 45 years.

The manager looked both relieved and delighted at full-time, with the result putting six points between them and the relegation zone with just six games to go.

A home win against Wolves this weekend could go a long way towards securing their Premier League survival.

Farke won’t be too concerned about how the victory came, as those three points could prove crucial in defining their season.

With safety now within reach and an FA Cup semi-final still ahead, Leeds fans have plenty to be excited about in the final stretch.
