Sevilla considering signing Liverpool youngster – 21-year-old could be set for Spain transfer

Sevilla

Liverpool youngster Ármin Pécsi has emerged as a Sevilla transfer target for the summer.

The goalkeeper moved to Anfield from Puskás Akadémia in the summer and is yet to make his first team debut for the Reds.

Arne Slot included the 21-year-old in his squad for Liverpool’s EFL Cup defeat to Crystal Palace and their league win over Aston Villa at Anfield.

Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman and Harvey Davies are ahead of him in the pecking order.

This has seen Pécsi settle for minutes with Liverpool U21s this season. His stats for them are as follows:

Appearances: 16

Starts: 16

Clean sheets: 4

Goals conceded: 29

Liverpool stopper attracting Sevilla interest

AS report the Hungary U21 international has ended up on Sevilla’s radar.

Arne Slot hasn’t given Ármin Pécsi minutes with the senior team this season but Liverpool have ‘complete confidence’ for his future.

The Premier League side could consider sanctioning a loan move in summer. Sevilla may be a good option as there’s a need to bring two new stoppers after this season.

Ørjan Nyland’s contract at Sevilla expires in June. He has been a backup for Odysseas Vlachodimos, who is on loan from Newcastle United.

The Andalusian club want to keep Vlachodimos while other clubs also keen. Two days ago, Sport Witness relayed news the Greek international has already received offers.

In addition to Pécsi, another experienced stopper could arrive, as long as they continue in La Liga. The Spanish club are 16th in the table, two points above 18th placed Elche.

Loan move to Spain may be beneficial

Despite Liverpool’s confidence, Ármin Pécsi’s situation is unlikely to improve next season. Therefore, a temporary move to a club like Sevilla, if assured regular game time, can help him gain necessary experience.

This will only work out if Sevilla stay in the top flight and assure Pécsi of minutes next season. Alternatively, if they’re relegated, he would only go there to be No.1.
