Liverpool are reportedly interested in sealing the stunning signing of Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye in the summer transfer window.
The Mohamed Salah era is close to reaching its conclusion, with the 33-year-old departing Anfield after nine years at the end of the season.
Salah clearly isn’t the world-class force he was at his peak, but he is still going to leave a huge void, both in terms of quality and leadership.
It is essential that Liverpool bring in the right man to replace him, and now a shock transfer report has emerged in that respect.
According to a new claim from TEAMtalk. The reigning Premier League champions are “firm admirers” of Everton star Ndiaye, ahead of coming up against him in the Merseyside derby on Sunday afternoon.
He is “continuing to feature prominently on their radar”, but it is ultimately a move that is unlikely, due to the rivalry between the two clubs and the unrest that it would cause among the Blues fanbase.

Could Iliman Ndiaye really end up at Liverpool this summer?
Ndiaye is a fantastic footballer – one who Liverpool will have to keep a close eye on this weekend – with Everton teammate Vitalii Mykolenko waxing lyrical over him earlier this month, saying:
“He will create everything from a few yards, he needs just a few yards. If you’ve seen his skills, it’s incredible. I don’t like to play against players like him. If you play the ball to him, he can make everything, he can create, he can do anything with the ball. I think he’s the most skilful player in the Premier League at the moment.”
But sadly, this may just have to be a pipe dream for Liverpool, with Everton surely not even entertaining the idea of selling arguably their best player to their local adversaries.
Instead, the Reds need to look elsewhere at options, from Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise to RB Leipzig ace Yan Diomande, ensuring they nail their Salah successor.
Olise feels like the perfect option, producing brilliance in Bayern’s 4-3 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night, but Diomande would be a young addition with so much promise.
