Luca Stephenson and Amar Fatah look to have played their last games for Dundee United.

The on-loan pair have impressed in their time at Tannadice but injury looks set to curtail their stints. Stephenson and Fatah have both suffered hamstring injuries, which are expected to keep them out of the remaining five games.

Fatah came off during the 3-2 win over Livingston with the issue and left the ground on crutches, while Stephenson suffered his injury in training in the build-up to that game. It is a blow for Jim Goodwin as both have been key players for the Tangerines this season.

Goodwin has spoken previously about trying to extended Fatah’s loan from Troyes for another season. It remains to be seen if that can be agreed or the French club might want the Swedish under-21 cap playing at a higher level again.

The 22-year-old scored four goals for United and also chipped in with four assists.

Stephenson is in his second season on-loan from Liverpool. This is a big summer for him with growing interest in the versatile midfielder in the English Championship.

It is another injury setback for United.

Macedonian winger Kristijan Trapanovski is also out for the season. He injured his knee and needed surgery after the Scottish Cup exit at Falkirk.

Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer also suffered a shoulder injury in the defeat to Rangers.

It means United are down in numbers for the final run-in. They host Dundee in the derby in the first game after the split.

United are looking to finish top of the bottom six.
