Frank Lampard's one word response to links with Bournemouth job

Frank Lampard has dismissed speculation linking him with interest from Premier League Bournemouth.

The 47-year-old has done a brilliant job in guiding Coventry City to within a point from confirming the club’s return to top flight football, and insists he’s solely focused on the task in hand – getting the Sky Blues mathematically over the line at Blackburn Rovers on Friday night and then securing the league title in the remaining three games.

Lampard was this week claimed to be on a Bournemouth shortlist for a new head coach after it emerged that current manager Andoni Iraola is to leave this summer.

Asked by Sky Sports at his pre-match press conference ahead of Blackburn what he makes of the speculation, the City boss said: “Nothing!"

"Nothing, because I have been in this game long enough to know that those things happen and very quickly they change, or whatever, and absolutely my focus is on us.

“I want to win this league now after what we’ve done through the season because it will be a slight anti-climax feeling for myself if we didn’t get the job done there. And that’s a good pressure to have at this point. So I want to do that and nothing else is taking me anywhere away than thinking about that.”
