Leeds United will be hoping to follow up their win this past week with another big result this weekend. The Whites are at home as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves are coming off a huge 4-0 defeat to West Ham, which will no doubt give hope to Leeds fans. After beating Manchester United, the Whites are now six points clear of the relegation zone going into this weekend.

Their performance on Monday night showed that the team can beat the drop; they had a dominant first half which pushed them to victory. After the game, many pundits and analysts have now given Leeds a high chance of survival.
Daniel Farke confirms injury news ahead of Wolves clash
On Monday night, Ao Tanaka picked up an injury late in the second half and had to be substituted. Fans looked worried as the Japanese midfielder had a very good game returning to the lineup to replace Anton Stach. Daniel Farke gave an update on the current status of some key first team players.
“All the players for the Man Utd game are also, at least today, ready for Wolves. Rodon, Stach and James first step is team training – today, no one is back in team training. But we have two days, we can always have a surprise.”
This means that Tanaka and Gudmundsson, who looked like they could miss this weekend’s game, will be ready for action. However, Joe Rodon, Anton Stach and Dan James remain out and are yet to return to first team training. Ahead of the game at Old Trafford, many pundits are predicting a big win considering how poor Wolves were against West Ham.
But Rob Edwards’ side are no pushovers; before losing to the Hammers, they beat Liverpool and Aston Villa. Wolves also took a point off Arsenal, so they will not be an easy game this weekend.

Positive news for Leeds United
Losing Tanaka after his brilliant performance would have been a huge blow to the team. On Monday night, he showed his value – he brings something different in the middle of the park. And having Gudmundsson available is always a positive for this team. Now, the club must work on getting their players fit in time for the rest of the season. These past few games have showed how important it was for the 49ers to spend on recruitment last summer; if the Whites had a thin squad, they would probably not stand a chance at this point of the season.
