Why Albion expect Boscagli to impress again at Spurs

The former PSV defender will partner Jan Paul van Hecke in the absence of suspended Lewis Dunk.

Boscagli impressed in last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Burnley and Hurzeler was delighted to see him quickly strike up an understanding with van Hecke.

Dunk will be available when Chelsea visit the Amex on Tuesday, which could give the head coach a decision to make.

Boscagli has had to wait for opportunities this season and Hurzeler said: “Players who are not playing, of course they should be frustrated because everyone should have the expectation to play.

“He knows our skipper (Dunk) is in a great shape and they have a good connection, JP and Lewis.

“But another really big thing, and that is very impressive from Oli, is he waits for his chance.

“He is very patient and in the right moment he is there.

“He helped the team. Also in the past he proved it.

“He had a lot of good performances when we needed him and he had another great performance.

“Hi had another really good performance with JP and that is something I always try to emphasise.

“Every players during the season will be important for us and that’s team togetherness.

“Oli Boscagli is a role model for that.

“He will have another chance (at Spurs) and that is a great thing for me as a coach,

“To have these options as a centre-back available.

“That they are able to build this connection so quick to each other.

“We are happy we have Oli Boscagli. We know his quality, we know he can help us.”
