Before the season began, nobody really gave Leeds United a chance at survival in the Premier League. But with just weeks left till the end of the season, the Whites can pull off a surprise.

Fans were not happy with how the club played over the first half of the campaign, but Daniel Farke has turned things around since then. Leeds are now six points above the relegation zone with seven league games to go. The team have done a great job to keep their heads above water for most of the campaign, even when many predicted them to go down. The season is not over, but it looks like four teams will be battling to avoid the last spot at the bottom alongside Wolves and Burnley – Leeds United, Tottenham, West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Simon Jordan has huge praise for Daniel Farke

A big part of the Whites’ turnaround this season has been Daniel Farke. The Leeds boss came under heavy criticism near the middle of the campaign, but has since vastly improved. His tactics and team selections have gotten big results since the end of last year, and could push the club to safety.

Simon Jordan has ben speaking on talkSPORT, saying that Farke deserves a lot of praise for how he has handled the Leeds team this season.

“He’s showing the ability to understand what it takes to stay in the Premier League without having inordinate amounts of money to spend. In both instances at Norwich, he wasn’t given inordinate amounts of money.

“So it was unfair when he was being judged by a set of standards at the beginning of the season, saying, ‘This is a guy that gets you up and might not be able to keep you up’.”

The Leeds boss was tipped to be sacked when the Whites won promotion last year, and is now proving many pundits and analysts wrong.

“What he’s shown of the third time of asking is that he knows how to navigate. He wasn’t aligned with an ideology of a way to play. Leeds changed about five, six, seven, eight games into the season.”

“They changed the way they started to play. And that’s produced outcomes. So he’s adapted. He’s shown he’s multifaceted.”
