Report: Everton frustration as Liverpool 'lead the way' to sign David Moyes' transfer target

Everton are in a couple of transfer battles with Liverpool.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Everton’s recruitment chiefs have been drawing up a shortlist of targets.

One of the players the Toffees are interested in is Bazoumana Toure, who is also being closely watched by their Merseyside rivals.

Moyes’ side are also showing an interest in Marcos Senesi, who is again being linked with a move to Liverpool, too.

Now, a fresh report has provided an update on Senesi’s situation and his likely destination.

Liverpool lead Everton in race to sign Marcos Senesi

According to the i Paper, it’s understood that Liverpool are ‘leading the way’ to sign Everton target Marcos Senesi.

Unfortunately for Moyes’ side, their Merseyside rivals are deemed the ‘most likely destination’ for the 28-year-old.

Senesi’s agent is offering him to most Premier League clubs playing in Europe, so for the Toffees to stand any chance this summer, they’d have to finish in the top seven at a minimum.

Realistically, it’s probably best for Everton to move on and look elsewhere in their search of a Michael Keane replacement.

Evidently, Moyes wants to sign an experienced Premier League defender to fill the void left by Keane, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

John Stones has been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it has been reported that he would be open to a return to Merseyside.

Moyes was actually the manager who brought Stones to the club in 2013, so the pair could be set for a reunion 13 years later.
