Leeds United will have all the confidence in the world as they prepare to face Wolves this weekend. The Whites have been buoyed by their result at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Daniel Farke’s men finally broke their string of poor results, with a win over rivals Manchester United. It was a well-deserved win backed by solid performances throughout the team. Now the club are six points above the relegation zone, with seven league games to go.

It looks like Leeds alongside West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham will be battling to avoid the last spot in the bottom three. Spurs slipped into the relegation zone after losing this past weekend.

Roy Keane makes huge claim about Leeds United

Since their win on Monday night, many have praised Leeds United and Daniel Farke for how well the team played at Old Trafford. The game plan was well executed, and Michael Carrick’s men could barely reply especially in the first half. They were dominated in midfield by Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka, who outplayed their counter parts.

Roy Keane especially was impressed with how the team set up on the night, and gave credit to Daniel Farke. The former Manchester United midfielder was in awe with how the Whites played, making an incredible claim on Stick to Football; “Leeds looked like Real Madrid against (Manchester) United.”

Paul Scholes had his doubts about Leeds, but was convinced after Monday night: “I thought Leeds were in trouble before the other night.”

“When I look at Forest, West Ham and Leeds, they look like they’ve got some form of pattern of what they’re doing, I can’t see anything with Tottenham.” Gary Neville said as he weighed in on the relegation battle.

Daniel Farke has to keep up this form

Roy Keane’s praise for Daniel Farke was earned because of how well Leeds played. But in order for the club to avoid the drop, they need to continue that form starting with Wolves this weekend. Farke has already warned his players about complacency; beating Manchester United should not distract the players from how important this game is. They need to go to Elland Road and repeat Monday night’s performance if they want to stand a chance at a win. Wolves are not an easy side, and have beaten Aston Villa and Liverpool over the last month.
