Everton hold a strong interest in signing Al-Ahli star Ivan Toney this summer, with the striker now keen on returning to the Premier League.
What David Moyes has said about Ivan Toney
Toney's move to Saudi Arabia came after scoring for fun across four seasons with Brentford, and the English striker has since gone on to light up the Saudi Pro League.

During his time with the Bees, the centre-forward received plaudits from David Moyes, who was left impressed by his ice-cool finishing, saying: “He’s got an awful lot of good things as a footballer. Obviously there’s a coolness about in his finishing and how he plays, and he’s got a physical element to him,” Moyes told the media last year.
“But also, importantly, he’s got a really intelligent football brain at times.”
However, the 30-year-old has struggled to force his way into Thomas Tuchel's England plans since making the move to Saudi Arabia, and according to a report from Football Insider, he is now keen on a return to the Premier League.
Everton hold a strong interest in signing Toney, as they want to bring in a proven Premier League striker, but a deal could be difficult to orchestrate, given that Al-Ahli have little interest in letting him leave, and he remains under contract with the Saudi Arabian side until 2028.
The Toffees' interest perhaps stems from the fact their current strikers haven't exactly set the world alight in the Premier League this season.
Beto
Everton striker Beto
Beto has improved since the turn of the year, netting four goals in his last five Premier League games, but he found the net just once before the beginning of January, in what has been an inconsistent campaign.
Thierno Barry
Thierno Barry
It would be fair to have expected a lot from Thierno Barry, after he arrived from Villarreal last summer, given that the 23-year-old is ranked among the Toffees' most expensive signings of all-time.
However, the Frenchman has scored fewer goals than Beto in the Premier League, netting on just six occasions, which suggests Moyes may need to bring in an upgrade in the summer.
Ivan Toney's wages at Al-Ahli
Should money be a major motivating factor, Toney may find it difficult to consider leaving Al-Ahli, given that he rakes in over £427,000 a week, which makes him the highest earning English player in the world.
However, at 30-years-old, the former Brentford man may still have a lot left to give at the top level, and he seemingly has little chance of forcing his way into England contention under Tuchel.
The free-scoring striker, who has been called "unbelievable" by pundit Gabriel Sutton, has gone without a cap since making a brief cameo against Senegal in June 2025, despite his exploits in Saudi Arabia.
