There are a few months left until the summer, and Leeds United are already planning for the transfer market. The Whites spent big last summer, and added key pieces to build the team.

The likes of Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all arrived this past summer. So far the players have helped the team as the season has progressed, and given them a huge chance of survival

As things stand, the Whites will be in the market for a new center forward per reports. Calvert-Lewin’s goal record since January has prompted the club to explore alternatives.

Leeds United tipped to sign James Trafford

James Trafford has had a mixed season with Manchester City. He was initially signed to be Pep Guardiola’s number one, before the club signed Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian has since been the first choice between the sticks this season. Trafford has been in goal for cup competitions, and started as City lifted the Carabao cup.

Many reports have tipped the England stopper to leave the Etihad in the summer. Leeds United have been included as a potential landing spot, but nothing concrete has emerged. Former Whites star Lee Sharpe thinks James Trafford would be a great addition to the club.

“I think Trafford to come in would definitely strengthen Leeds,” Sharpe told The Yorkshire Post.

“I certainly think Trafford would be a strong addition to the squad.

“I think Daniel Farke is a pretty wise manager and knows what he’s talking about. I’m sure he knows the goalkeeping situation and has already got a list if that’s what he’s looking for.”

Club will experience a massive shake up this summer

Though James Trafford is not a confirmed target this summer, the Whites will be in the market for a shot stopper. The coming months will see three of the club’s first team goalkeepers out of contract. Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and Illan Meslier will all be available as free agents this summer if nothing changes between now and the end of the season. That would leave Lucas Perri as the only keeper under contract with the club, and so there is a very high possibility that the club look to the transfer market for options. The 49ers have been linked with other keepers across the country, including a few in the Championship this season.
