Liverpool’s injury list has grown ahead of their upcoming Premier League meeting with Everton on Sunday.
Earlier this week we saw Hugo Ekitike rupture his Achilles in the 2-0 defeat to PSG, ruling the Frenchman out for the remainder of the season and the 2026 World Cup.
Liverpool’s squad has been stretched thin for much of 2025/26 due to injury and Joe Gomez is now once again sidelined for the weekend’s action.

Arne Slot rules Joe Gomez out of Everton vs Liverpool and speaks on Hugo Ekitike
Speaking live at his press conference on Friday, Slot gave an update on Ekitike and said the Frenchman is yet to undergo surgery.
He said: “He hasn’t been operated on yet. It is devastating for him, coming to a new club and having such an impact straight away.
“Your first thoughts are always with him, being out for such a long time and missing out on so many special moments. But he is not the first or last player who will experience this and so many have come back even stronger.
“I’m sure in 10, 15 years he will maybe even say this injury helped me to perform at an even higher level than I did before.”

In the same presser, the Dutchman also confirmed that Gomez is not fit and will play no part against Everton. When asked if the defender would be fit for Sunday, he simply replied: “No.”
The Englishman came off the bench against PSG on Tuesday, but he has been in and out of the team this season due to persistent fitness problems.
In his absence, Dominik Szoboszlai or Jeremie Frimpong are expected to start at right-back when Liverpool make the short trip to Everton on April 19.
Alongside Ekitike and Gomez, all of Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley and Alisson Becker will miss the weekend’s action.
