Tottenham Hotspur could be forced into sales should they suffer Premier League relegation.

Liverpool are eyeing a potential move for Archie Gray, reports suggest.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds could look to swoop for the youngster should Tottenham Hotspur suffer relegation from the Premier League.

Spurs have just six games to avoid an embarrassing demotion from the top flight. They are currently two points adrift of safety and despite hiring Roberto De Zerbi as their third managerial approach, he suffered defeat by Sunderland in his maiden game in charge.

Should Tottenham go down to the Championship then it is likely a swathe of their players will depart. And while Liverpool have been linked with centre-back Micky van de Ven, it is suggested that Gray could appeal.

The 20-year-old, signed for £40 million in 2024, has been a rare beacon of light in a lacklustre Spurs season. He has made 33 appearances, scoring two goals and creating three assists. While central midfield is Gray’s favoured and best role, he has been forced to operate in both full-back positions and at centre-back.

It is suggested that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also admirers of the England under-21 international.

Speaking on Gray’s situation, Young Lions head coach Lee Carsley said last month: “It’s very difficult. I’ve had the experience of being relegated from the Premier League two years on the bounce. It’s not easy. You live and breathe it literally every minute of the day.

“And to be at a club like Tottenham, also, where the pressure will be immense with the new stadium and the training ground and the expectation, Archie has thrived in that environment and hopefully he can keep that up.”
