What David Moyes has told Everton players ahead of Merseyside Derby

Arne Slot is expecting a big atmosphere from the Everton fans, which will hopefully help avoid a repeat of the opening 30 minutes at Anfield earlier in the season.

Moyes’ men found themselves two goals down at Anfield, which Dewsbury-Hall has admitted really frustrated the 62-year-old manager.

What is your prediction for this weekend’s Merseyside Derby? 🫣

“He reminded us, ‘Look, remember what happened at Anfield in those first 30 minutes – it wasn’t our level,’ ” Dewsbury-Hall told The Times.

“There is no way we are going to be starting a game like that again. He has almost let us know, ‘It’s there for you now – don’t let them come to the stadium and think it is going to be an easy game’. I’m hoping that is what you will see.”

The Everton fans have planned a big reception for the Everton bus arrival on Sunday, with fans set to line the entrances to the stadium.

Three big points are on the line, but there is also a place in the history books to be had for these Everton players in the first-ever Merseyside Derby at the new ground.

Jordan Pickford has already admitted Liverpool aren’t in good form, which is something Everton will have to capitalise on.

Moyes is establishing that message, with the hope his side take the game to their bitter rivals from the very first whistle.
