Liverpool star ‘open to the move’ as club make him primary target – €8m wages a problem

Liverpool star Alisson is open to a move to Juventus this summer, and the Italian giants have made him their number one target.

Journalist Nicolo Ceccarini reports on Tuttomercatoweb that the Brazilian goalkeeper is now the number one choice for Juventus this summer. But, his salary at Anfield is an issue.

Juventus start moving

The journalist reports that with a month remaining of the season, Juventus are now starting to prepare their initial moves for the summer.

The Italians want a new goalkeeper and are making a strong push for Alisson. The Liverpool goalkeeper is their primary target for the summer.

The Brazilian, for his part, is ‘open to the move’. But the two parties need to work out what to pay him. Alisson currently earned €8m a year at Liverpool and that’s too much for Juventus.

The Serie A side have a strict, established wage cap and are offering the 33-year-old a three-year deal at a lower figure, one which fits into their structure. There’s no mention of what that figure is at present.

But it is safe to assume it is considerably lower than what he’s currently earning at Liverpool.

Liverpool demands

There is also no mention of what Liverpool would want to sanction a deal. They extended Alisson’s deal by a year earlier this year, so it now runs until 2027.

That means Juventus will need to pay a fee for the 33-year-old this summer. Transfermarkt currently value him at €17m. A reduction on that would be likely given he’s in the final year of his deal.

Liverpool also have Giorgi Mamardashvili ready as Alisson’s replacement. But a sale would leave them with just one senior goalkeeper in the Georgian so there may be some reluctance.

Alisson is open to the move, though. That alone has pushed Juventus to make him their number one target, despite there being work to do on his wage demands.
