Everton have already arranged several ways to make money from the new stadium.
The Friedkin Group ensured a friendly between Scotland and the Ivory Coast took place at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in March, while rugby events have also been scheduled to boost finances.
Everton have now agreed to host an Upper Deck Golf experience at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with Liverpool set to host The Open in July – where fans can fire balls off the top of the ground, aiming for targets on the pitch down below.
When told about this in his press conference ahead of the Merseyside derby, David Moyes shared a hilarious reaction.

David Moyes left bemused by modern day football’s commercial activities
The 62-year-old is an old-fashioned coach, who did not grow up in a football world where stadiums would host rugby, golf events and concerts.
This was evident when This is Anfield – who have since deleted the footage – informed Moyes of the Upper Deck Golf experience during his press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of the Merseyside derby.
The Glaswegian slowly shook his head as news of the golf event was fed back to him, before quipping: “Divots in the pitch then? That’s cheered me right up.”

Moyes was seemingly reacting in jest, rather than actually having a genuine issue with the arrangement.
The season will be over once the Upper Deck Golf experience comes to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, so the pitch will most likely have already been ripped up ahead of fresh turf being laid for the 2026/27 campaign.
Ultimately, Moyes won’t mind one bit if these commercial events boost his transfer budget for the summer, with Everton only a few solid signings away from being a real force under the Scot once again.

Ben White is one target for Everton this summer, while a permanent deal for Jack Grealish is on the agenda too, so any added income from these non-footballing events will be a welcome boost.
