Jamie Carragher has urged Fenway Sports Group to rethink any plans to increase ticket prices at Liverpool FC.
And his message is simple:
👉 It’s not worth the backlash.
Carragher believes pushing ahead with price rises would create unnecessary tension with supporters:
“I just don’t think you need the fight with the supporters over it. There’s no gain.”
👉 A clear warning to the club’s ownership
This comes at a time when supporters are already dealing with:
* Inconsistent performances on the pitch
* Concerns over the club’s direction
* Rising costs across football
👉 Increasing ticket prices now could push frustration even further
Carragher’s point goes beyond finances.
For a club like Liverpool:
* The connection with supporters is everything
* The atmosphere at Anfield is a major strength
* Fan unity has always been part of the club’s identity
👉 Risking that for relatively small financial gain makes little sense
Ticket pricing has been a sensitive issue in the past, and any increase could:
* Spark protests
* Damage the relationship between fans and owners
* Create a distraction off the pitch
👉 Something Liverpool will want to avoid
Jamie Carragher has delivered a clear message to FSG:
👉 Don’t create a problem that doesn’t need to exist
Because when it comes to Liverpool:
👉 The supporters should always come first.
