CL giants working on deal to sign 'world-class' Liverpool star, he's open to move - report

Juventus are working on a deal to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side have reportedly earmarked the 33-year-old Brazilian as their number one choice to replace Michele Di Gregorio and are starting to make ‘concrete moves’ for his arrival.

Alisson, who will enter the final year of his Liverpool contract in June, has struggled with injuries this season, missing the Reds’ last two Premier League games.

He was also absent for a five-game period earlier in the campaign, with Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili deputising during that time.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Alisson is open to the idea of joining Juventus this summer, with talks between the parties reportedly ongoing regarding contract terms.

The Serie A side are said to be offering a three-year deal to the Brazilian, who knows Serie A well from his two-year spell at Roma.

Alisson made 64 appearances during his time at the Stadio Olimpico and was named Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year in 2017-18.

He joined Liverpool in a deal worth around £66m, a world-record fee for a goalkeeper at the time.

Alisson has helped Liverpool win two Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2018-19, as well as a host of other domestic and continental trophies.

The 'world-class' Brazilian has made 332 appearances for the Reds to date, keeping 140 clean sheets and conceding 305 goals.

Liverpool are heading for another squad reshuffle this summer after spending over £450m on new signings before the season.

The Reds are expected to bring in a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is leaving on a free transfer in June, and are also set to part ways with Andy Robertson, whose deal expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool Keen on Archie Gray

With Salah and Robertson’s departures confirmed, Liverpool are likely to head into the new season with a rejuvenated squad.

The Reds have earmarked Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Archie Gray as a potential addition and could seriously consider a move if the north London side are relegated from the Premier League.

Tottenham’s drop to the Championship would spark a first-team exodus, with a host of players expected to leave, including captain Cristian Romero, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defender Micky van de Ven.
