Report: What obsessive Moyes has been doing at Finch Farm as he seeks marginal gains for Everton

David Moyes is doing a terrific job at Everton – and it seems the Scot is hell bent on delivering European football with something he’s been doing at Finch Farm.

Everton are on the brink of European football and today they face Liverpool in the first Merseyside Derby at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

How confident on a scale of 1-10 are you that Moyes signs a new deal?😬

1 being he won't sign and 10 being confident he'll ink a new contract!

Fans head in with confidence, and certainly, there is every reason to be confident.

A win today could take Everton up to sixth in the table, and really send out a message to the other clubs chasing Europe.

Ahead of the game, the Daily Mail have shared an interesting article about Moyes’ return to Everton, and includes a line that suggests he is so set on helping the Toffees to get into Europe.

Obsessive David Moyes can put on very long tactical sessions at Everton

Everton are in such a promising position right now.

After Saturday’s results, the club have slipped a couple of places to 10th in the Premier League table, with Bournemouth winning and Brighton getting a point.

But the Toffees can move up to sixth by beating Liverpool today – and no doubt Moyes will be extremely fired up to try and make that happen.

Of course, Moyes has taken Everton into Europe before.

But it seems he is absolutely determined to make it happen again, and he is really putting in the work to try and bring it to fruition.

The Daily Mail say that he has been putting on sessions at Finch Farm that can last up to two-and-a-half hours long.

But any notion of the players finding this frustrating is dismissed.

It’s stated that all the players are ‘very complimentary about Moyes’ impact and work ethic’ and that ‘they all say they feel energised by him’. There is said to be a feel-good spirit and the training ground is now a happy place – and Moyes’ laidback way has been key in this.

Seemingly, Moyes has struck the perfect balance of being someone who commands respect and is really well liked.

And clearly, he is as sharp as ever when it comes to tactics and work ethic, which was talked up by Stuart Pearce earlier this year.

And that is a potential recipe for success, as Everton look to get the job done in these final weeks of the season.
