Liverpool were given another glimpse into the special talent that is Yan Diomande on Saturday, as he lit up RB Leipzig’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Reds are reportedly tracking Diomande as they look to add more pace and threat to their forward options this summer.
There may, understandably, be some hesitation from Liverpool in paying a fee of up to £87m to snatch a 19-year-old with barely 40 senior appearances to his name, but Diomande once again showed on Saturday why he will absolutely be worth it for the Reds.
How do you feel about Alexander Isak starting against Everton?
And with Hugo Ekitike out, who should be Liverpool's front three at the Hill Dickinson?

Diomande offers exactly what Liverpool are missing
As Liverpool scour the globe to find the right players to revitalise their attack, Diomande has emerged as perhaps the most obvious option.
On Saturday, he underlined exactly why. Notching his 12th Bundesliga goal of an exceptional breakout campaign, the Ivorian ran from right to left of the penalty area, dragging virtually the whole Eintracht defence with him.
Having engineered the ball onto his right foot, Diomande then curled home a beautiful effort which left goalkeeper Michael Zetterer stranded.
But it wasn’t only his goal which stood out. The Leipzig man was a constant nuisance, creating three chances during the game while completing four out of seven attempted dribbles.

He is raw, and that is obvious at times, but Diomande’s potential looks enormous.
With every passing game he is justifying Leipzig’s high asking price, and though he may be playing his way out of contention at Liverpool, especially if they do not qualify for the Champions League, the Ivory Coast international would be the best answer the Reds can possibly provide.
Diomande is a superstar in the making
If Liverpool do not pull the trigger and get Diomande, then there is a high chance that another elite European team will.
Displays such as the one he delivered against Eintracht will only heighten the notion that this is a superstar in the making.
You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

Diomande has now scored in back-to-back Bundesliga matches, and it is becoming clear that his level reaches beyond the confines of Leipzig.
Liverpool may feel that they cannot spend such a big sum on another attacking player after splurging on Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.
But if they want to solve their issues of pace, goalscoring threat from wide and danger in the front line, then Diomande is making it clear that he is the number one choice.
These performances are becoming routine for Diomande, and Liverpool should make sure he is now the first name on their list this summer.
