Everton ratings vs Liverpool as 3/10 costs David Moyes in derby heartbreak

Everton suffered Merseyside Derby heartbreak following a last-gasp goal.

Beto scored the equalising goal in the second half following some excellent work from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to provide the assist.

However, Everton were denied a point after Virgil van Dijk scored in the 10th minute of added time.

Who was your Man of the Match from that Merseyside Derby draw? 😬

There were some solid displays out there despite the result… 💪

David Moyes now has five games to push the Blues as high up the table as possible, with valuable points dropped.

Jordan Pickford – 6

Dealt with most of Liverpool’s corners right until the very final one.

What went wrong there for Everton? 😫

Heartbreak for the Blues in the derby

Jake O’Brien – 6

Thought he had the assist for Iliman Ndiaye’s goal, but was ruled offside by VAR. Having had the entire line to look across, he should have kept himself onside.

James Tarkowski – 6

Produced a crucial header to deny Cody Gakpo a goal shortly after the equaliser. Failed to deal with Van Dijk right at the death.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 6

Put in an absolute cruncher of a challenge on Alexander Isak in the second half. Left the field in tears with what appears another significant hamstring injury.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 3

An afternoon to forget for the Ukraine international. Vitalii Mykolenko was caught out of position by Mohamed Salah for his goal, and was caused constant issues by the Liverpool winger.

Idrissa Gana Gueye – 6

Amazingly avoided an injury after some robust challenges from Liverpool. Chris Kavanagh failed to manage the tackles on the Senegal international.

James Garner – 6

Definitely not James Garner’s best game this season for Everton. Perhaps best summed up by his unnecessary shot from about 40 yards out with 15 minutes to go.

Dwight McNeil – 5

A really sloppy pass from Dwight McNeil in the lead-up to Salah’s goal. Improved in the second half, but questions will be asked why Tyrique George was not introduced earlier.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 9

Constantly looking to create something and was finally rewarded by providing the assist for Beto.

Dewsbury-Hall wanted Everton to make a statement against Liverpool and his effort could not be denied.

Iliman Ndiaye – 8

Just oozed quality throughout the game. Thought he had the opening goal, but was cruelly denied by VAR.

Ndiaye caused Curtis Jones issues all afternoon long.

Beto – 8

Everton fans saw the best and worst from Beto. His movement was excellent, but his finishing was not always good enough.

However, he got his goal in the end to bring the Blues level.

Substitutes

Thierno Barry – 3

Failed to get up to speed with the game after replacing the injured Beto.

Tyrique George – N/A

Michael Keane – N/A
