Liverpool sustained yet another injury problem during Sunday’s Merseyside Derby against Everton, with Giorgi Mamardashvili needing the stretcher.
The Georgian has continued in goal for the Reds as Alisson Becker embarks upon his own recovery, but was forced off after colliding with Andy Robertson as Beto equalised at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It did not look especially good for Mamardashvili, with BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin suggesting that the goalkeeper may have damaged his knee.

Mamardashvili may have a knee injury
Although Liverpool have been desperately poor this season, they have also had some truly rotten luck.
Serious injuries have been a continuous theme, with Hugo Ekitike the latest to be ruled out for months on end having ruptured his Achilles in midweek. Now there’s a potentially serious problem for Mamardashvili as well.
It wasn’t easy to see exactly what happened to the goalie, with a tangle of legs and arms between him, Robertson and Beto.
Nevin appeared to have a better view of it, suggesting that the Liverpool man was left concerned over his knee.

“Giorgi Mamardashvili really did feel there was something wrong with his knee there,” said Nevin.
“Freddie Woodman is third choice but he is coming on.”
Alisson is likely to be back and ready in the coming weeks, but if Mamardashvili has injured his knee, then he could be facing the rest of the season, and even some of next term, out.
In the meantime, it’s very possible that Woodman will be needed for next weekend’s Anfield clash with Crystal Palace at the very least.
