Seeing Mamardashvili leave the pitch on a stretcher was a sad sight, though, with Freddie Woodman forced on after the Georgian was hurt when Beto equalised for Everton.
But writing on [_X_](https://x.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/2045951762046034238?s=20) on Sunday evening, Pearce gave a fairly positive update on the Liverpool goalkeeper, saying the hope is that he hasn’t suffered a serious issue.

**A season of rotten luck with injuries for Liverpool**

It would be wrong to blame injuries solely on Liverpool’s struggles this season – there are many reasons for them – but they have suffered such bad luck in that department.
Big-money signings Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni have been struck down with serious issues, and the same applies to Conor Bradley.
Jeremie Frimpong has also had his problems, while Alisson’s injury-prone nature is now a cause for concern, with the Brazilian in and out of the team too often these days.
For that reason, Liverpool desperately need Mamardashvili available for the Premier League run-in, even though Woodman did an admirable job when he came on against Everton.
