There is nothing sweeter than a late, late Merseyside derby winner, just ask Steven Gerrard or Curtis Jones after their priceless reactions to Virgil van Dijk‘s goal!
Euphoric moments have been in short supply this season, and while the performance against Everton was much of the same, the 100th-minute header from the captain was something we all needed.
Liverpool have now won the first Merseyside derby at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and they also have the first goalscorer in the fixture thanks to Mo Salah.
Late winners against the Blues, they never get old!
Steven Gerrard was not at the ground, but even he was filmed celebrating the win, in one of six things spotted after the victory.

The former captain celebrating the current captain’s winner against Everton, file this under things you just love to see.
He’s always been just one of us.
Curtis Jones with the perfect look at Everton supporters
As the Scouser in our team, Jones knows more than anyone what the derby means, and his turn back towards Jordan Pickford and Everton supporters after they conceded the goal was perfectly captured by the cameras.
What’s even better? Jones stuck it straight up on his Instagram stories. No caption needed for that one!

In what is their last Merseyside derby, Ibrahima Konate was not allowing either Salah or Robertson to leave the pitch without receiving the adulation from the travelling Kop.
There was some resistance from Robbo at first, but he couldn’t help but give a big fist pump!

Is right.
That Salah will leave at the end of the season still doesn’t feel real, he still has a lot to offer, and we’ll miss him tormenting the Blues.
And Freddie Woodman has got plenty of tricks in the bag!
Fucking unreal ?? pic.twitter.com/oPtKZSGyCB

If you were at all nervous about the third-choice goalkeeper coming on, this calm header and chip over to Robertson surely calmed you down!
It’s like having Ragnar Klavan back in the fold.
