"Of course..."- Stunning piece of Liverpool summer transfer business has been predicted

Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro has talked up the idea of Mohamed Salah joining the Spanish giants this summer, ahead of his Liverpool exit.

Salah will depart Anfield at the end of this season, following nine extraordinary years there, but it remains to be seen what his next move will be.

While the 33-year-old has been tipped to head to the Saudi Pro League or MLS, some feel that he is still good enough to ply his trade in Europe.

Speaking to the media [via TEAMtalk], Hierro discussed the potential of Salah joining Madrid in the summer, saying he could see it working out:

“Why not? Of course, I would like it. Mohamed Salah is an extraordinary player in every sense. No one can deny his great impact at Liverpool and his achievements. I would love to see him at Real Madrid; everything is possible in football,” he added.

“Salah is the kind of player any club in the world would want to sign because he is exceptional and has a direct impact on the game. He’s not just a great player – he’s a true football phenomenon who makes the difference wherever he is.”

Is Mohamed Salah good enough for Real Madrid now?

Salah isn’t the footballer he was at his peak, but he has shown in recent weeks that he is still a force compared to many mere mortals.

He has actually scored five goals in his last nine appearances, including opening the scoring in Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 win away to Everton in a Merseyside derby that will be remembered for years to come.

But whether Salah is now at the right time in his career to shine for Madrid is up for debate, especially with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior among the best attacking players in the world currently.

It would be nice to see him get a big move, though, rather than seeing his career peter out at a far weaker level, and it is going to be interesting to see where he ends up.

One thing’s for sure, though – replacing Salah is going to be bordering on impossible for Liverpool this summer, with the Egyptian one of the greatest players in the club’s history.
