Sunderland scrambling to offer star lucrative new deal as Liverpool launch shock move

Sunderland are now scrambling to offer Enzo Le Fee a lucrative new contract to fend off interest from Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool register interest in Le Fee

Nothing in the Premier League comes for free and Sunderland are about to learn that the hard way this summer after an incredibly impressive return to the top flight. The vultures are already circling around some of Regis Le Bris' best players ahead of the transfer window.

Le Bris loves him: Sunderland are already brewing the next Brian Brobbey

Sunderland are braced for a wave of transfer interest in their star striker this summer.

Their attempts to push on from a potential top-half finish could be ended before they've even had the chance to commence their second campaign back in the Premier League. It would be a classic case of suffering from their own success.

Brian Brobbey is just one star player who could be heading for the exit door in the coming months. The Dutchman has bulldozed his way onto Bayern Munich's radar and their interest is unlikely to go away anytime soon as his form continues to skyrocket.

Brobbey's departure would be bad enough, but the Black Cats are also facing the threat of losing another star when the transfer window swings open.

According to TeamTalk, Liverpool have contacted Sunderland about signing Le Fee. The Reds are keen to rebuild their midfield this summer, potentially starting with the Italian.

Those at the Stadium of Light are more aware than anyone about just how important Le Fee is to their side, however, and are now preparing to offer him a lucrative deal to stay put in Wearside.

Sunderland should do everything to keep Le Fee

Le Fee is a rare case. Whilst many struggle to adapt to the Premier League but thrive in the Championship, he's looked even better in the top flight than he did in the second tier.

The former AS Roma man has been involved in 10 goals in all competitions so far this season and it would reportedly take a major offer for Sunderland to sell up anytime soon. In the space of two years, he has become one of the most important stars in that dressing room.

"Really pleased because of the ability to repeat but to play in different positions as well, always smart, always well connected with the squad, always keen to do the tasks, even defensive tasks he will do on purpose. He’s a good team-mate and a really good player." (Le Bris)

Interest from Liverpool should come as no surprise. They splashed the cash to welcome Florian Wirtz last summer, hoping that he'd become their new talisman. Almost 12 months on, however, that couldn't be further from the case.

Whilst he has struggled, Le Fee has thrived in a similar role and some may be questioning whether he's the true attacking spark that the Reds desperately need.
