Liverpool are among the clubs linked with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

Liverpool-linked Yan Diomande continued his scintillating form as Red Bull Leipzig edged closer to securing Champions League qualification.

Die Roten Bullen earned a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to move up to third in the Bundesliga table. It was Diomande who opened the scoring with a fine goal in the 27th minute. The winger netted for the 13th time this campaign, while he has recorded eight assists in 32 appearances.

Given Diomande’s lack of experience after joining Leipzig from CD Leganes last summer, he has surpassed plenty of expectations. The 19-year-old has been one of the best players in Germany and has unsurprisingly attracted plenty of attention.

Liverpool are one of the clubs monitoring Diomande. The Reds are in the market to succeed Mo Salah, who will bring the curtain down on a nine-year Anfield stay at the end of the campaign.

After the victory over Frankfurt, Leipzig boss Ole Werner hailed Diomande as ‘basically unstoppable’ - but warned the teenager to remain grounded. “He’s spectacular, sharp, and basically unstoppable,” Werner told Sky Germany.

“What’s really special about him is that he doesn’t really need fancy moves. He just relies on his timing, ball control, and speed. At 19, he has a good understanding of the game and knows where spaces open up..He can go far if he keeps working just as hard as he has been and doesn’t get too big for his boots.“

It has been suggested that Leipzig, who paid around £18 million for Diomande, value the Ivory Coast international at around £85 million. And while the Saxony outfit are a selling club, it has been reported that they are not willing to part ways in the upcoming summer transfer window. Leipzig could instead sell centre-back Castello Lukeba and look to reward Diomande with a new, improved contract.
