It seems that RB Leipzig are looking to make a maximum profit on Yan Diomande this summer.
The 19-year-old Ivorian has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season, registering 13 goals and 8 assists across 32 appearances for the German side.
Diomande joined Leipzig on a permanent basis in the summer of 2025 after an impressive loan spell at Leganés, where he caught the eye before the Spanish side’s relegation from La Liga. The Bundesliga club paid just €20m to secure his services — a fee that now looks like extraordinary business, given that they are reportedly demanding five times that amount to let him leave.
It was reported by Florian Plettenberg on Monday night that Diomande is now Liverpool’s top target to replace Mohamed Salah.
But it would seem that Liverpool may have offer in excess of €100m to make any deal a reality.
Sky Sports journalist Philipp Hinze has claimed that RB Leipzig have put a valuation of more than €100m on star player Yan Diomande.
“RB Leipzig are now demanding more than €100m for Yan Diomande. Since qualification for the Champions League is very realistic, Leipzig no longer have financial pressure to sell. Diomande’s value is rising.”
“The €20m transfer fee paid to Leganés last summer has, in the club’s view, more than quintupled in value. Meanwhile, Leipzig are planning a contract adjustment, including a salary increase, to keep Diomande until 2027. Leipzig are fighting to retain the Ivorian for another season. But: Diomande is not untouchable. Depends on potential offers.”
With the summer window fast approaching, the Diomande situation is one Liverpool will need to resolve quickly.
At over €100m, the fee is steep – but for a 19-year-old already producing these numbers in the Bundesliga, the Reds may have little choice but to meet Leipzig’s demands if they are serious about landing their top target.
