Liverpool are interested in signing one of PSG’s incredible attackers, although their interest does not include Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele – likely due to cost.
Liverpool like “pretty much all of PSG’s wingers”, according to David Lynch, speaking to Anfield Index.
This includes Bradley Barcola, Desiree Doue and superstar Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian would be particularly exciting to see at Liverpool in the summer.
Dembele isn’t mentioned despite his crown as the world’s best footballer after his 2025 Ballon d’Or triumph. While Lynch doesn’t mention Dembele, it’s fair to assume it’s a question of availability. There is no reasonable event where PSG agrees to sell a French current Ballon d’Or winner, right?
Even if he’s three years younger and at a similar level to Dembele, Kvaratskhelia might actually be the more likely signing of the two.
Lynch said: “Liverpool, they like pretty much all of those PSG wingers. They like Barcola, they like Doue, they like Kvaratskhelia if they were even on the market this summer maybe.
“And there have been suggestions that might be the case albeit I only think they’ll sell one of them if they do and it will be to bring someone in like [Yan] Diomande so one to keep an eye on.”
Liverpool signing Kvaratskhelia would be the stuff of dreams in the post Salah era
Several top pundits have gone on record lately saying Michael Olise is the best like-for-like solution to replacing what Mohamed Salah has provided on the wing for Liverpool over the last nine years, including Steven Gerrard.
Kvaratskhelia would be one way of replacing Salah. Not his position exactly, but the role of attacking talisman. Alexander Isak may well return to his Premier League-leading best next season but Liverpool need an elite winger to support and lead alongside hime.
On the left hand side, Kvaratskhelia does everything Salah does and is the same age the Egyptian was when Liverpool signed him from AS Roma in 2017 for £36.9m.
The goal he scored against Liverpool at the Parc des Princes was simply stunning. While unlikely, it would be nice to see them go out and sign a player who beat them twice the same year.
