The latest Premier League transfer news including Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Newcastle, Everton and more

We’re halfway through the week, and the Premier League action just keeps coming, with Burnley taking on Manchester City and Bournemouth facing Leeds United this evening. It’s been non-stop since last Saturday, with Thursday set to serve as only the briefest of pauses before the roller-coaster hurtles off again at breakneck speed.

Things are far from done and dusted with just a handful of league matches remaining for each club, with the title race and relegation scrap continuing to provide unrivalled entertainment with its twists and turns. On top of that, there’s also the veritable Royal Rumble of a battle for European spots, with over half the teams in the division still involved in the hunt.

On top of that, clubs are secretively whittling down their shortlists ahead of the summer transfer window opening in the middle of June, with a serious amount of business expected to be done in the Premier League ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up the latest transfer tales involving clubs in England’s top tier.

Chelsea and Man United could battle for Scott

Like many a fateful stag-do, we’re kicking things off with a trip to Bournemouth, where midfield gem Alex Scott is continuing to attract attention from the Premier League elite. The ex-Bristol City midfielder, according to Caught Offside, is of great interest to both Manchester United and Chelsea after an excellent 2025/26 campaign.

The England international has impressed with his relentless midfield displays, and those high energy performances are said to be of real interest to United, given the overhaul of their creaking engine room set to take place this summer.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could find themselves needing to replace Enzo Fernandez, after his antics during the last international break. In the report, it’s stated that a fee over £50m could get the ball rolling, with a final fee up to £65m likely to be required to seal the deal.

The 3AM Verdict: It will be a summer of change at Bournemouth with Marco Rose coming in for Andoni Iraola, which makes it feel like the natural time for Scott to move on, too. Neither Chelsea orMan United will have any problem laying down the asking price, meaning it could come down the player’s preference. With the wheels coming off at Chelsea, and Scott famously a big Tottenham fan, a move to United seems the more likely.

Everton join fierce battle for Italian gem

To Merseyside, next, where Everton are among five clubs to be linked with a youngster making waves in Serie B. The starlet in question, according to Team Talk, is Italy U21 international Issa Doumbia, who currently plies his trade for a team known more for their stunning kits than their footballing prowess, Venezia.

The report claims that Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Crystal Palace are also interested in the 22-year-old, who has scored six goals and provided five assists from a central midfield role this season. Chelsea are claimed to be admirers, which could probably be said of every footballer in the world who isn’t old enough to legally rent a car in the UK.

Elsewhere, Napoli, Roma, AC Milan and Inter are all credited with some interest, along with Sporting CP and Benfica from Portugal. There’s no indication of the fee that Doumbia’s club are looking to pocket in exchange for their in-demand talent, but given that his current contract doesn’t expire until 2029, they’re in a decent position to a negotiate significant one.

The 3AM Verdict: At the moment, there’s really no saying who could sign Doumbia, given that seemingly every mid-level club in England and even more abroad are said to be interested. Arguably, all the Premier League sides mentioned could do with a new central midfielder in the summer. This does all feel a little bit like agent talk to build interest, at the moment.

Arsenal learn asking price for rising star full-back

Lastly, we’re jetting off to Sardinia, where Cagliari loanee Marco Palestra has been having a fine season of it during a loan spell away from parent club Atalanta. The dynamic right-back has two caps for Italy already at the age of 21, and is being tipped for a bright future, albeit one without an appearance at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Fresh news from Sport Italia, via Sport Witness, reveals that Inter are the latest club to take an interest in Palestra, with a bid in the region of £27m likely to be enough to tempt Atalanta into selling. This news is likely to be of interest to both Arsenal and Liverpool, with both clubs having previously been linked with the player.

The 3AM Verdict: We’ve seen some outrageous fees changing hands in recent transfer windows, but £27m for a senior international with bags of potential doesn’t seem that unreasonable at all.

Liverpool could certainly do with a fresh option at right-back given Jeremie Frimpong’s indifferent debut season in the Premier League and thelong-term injury Connor Bradley is still recovering from. Arsenal, meanwhile, aren’t exactly stacked at right-back either. One to watch this summer, for sure.
