Reliable Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has reported that Juventus have now reached a verbal agreement with Alisson Becker.
The stories linking Alisson Becker with a departure from Liverpool has been building for weeks, and at this point it is difficult to dismiss as mere speculation.
The Brazilian has been one of the finest goalkeepers in the world since his arrival at Anfield in 2018, but at 33 years old and injuries mounting, the possibility of a new challenge appears to be genuinely on the table.
Now Matteo Moretto has revealed that Juventus have now reached a verbal agreement with Alisson ahead of the summer.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Moretto said:
“There are important news regarding the future of Alisson because I have said many times of how Juventus are searching for a strong name in the goalkeeping department.”
“And Alisson is the name chosen by Juventus. There is already a basis of verbal understanding between Juventus and Alisson. The footballer opens the door clearly to Serie A.”
“He is really very fascinated, attracted by the Juventus project. What is missing? It is necessary to understand what Liverpool wants to do, how much they will ask for the transfer, and if Liverpool themselves opens the doors for Alisson – who has played a lot of games in the Premier League.”
He added that Juventus will try now to get the 33-year-old, with potential direct club-to-club talks to follow:
“He wants to leave Liverpool in a way that both parties are satisfied with his departure. But between Alisson and Juventus, there is already a basic understanding, there is already a ‘yes’ from the goalkeeper.”
“Juventus is going to try and get him, then we will update you on when there is official talks, and first official contacts between the two clubs directly.”
The key info from Moretto is that the ball is now in Liverpool’s court.
Alisson has given his personal green light – what remains is a fee and Liverpool’s willingness to let him go. With Mamardashvili already at the club and Alisson entering the final stretch of his Anfield career, Slot’s side may well decide the time is right to part ways this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing twelve months later.
