Aston Villa are plotting a raid on Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window, and he's strongly considering a move, according to a report from talkSPORT.
After only competing in the Europa League this season, Villa will want to ensure they are battling in the Champions League year on year.
In order to achieve that, they'll need a deeper squad filled with more quality so they can deal with the hectic and intense fixture schedule.
It was a relatively disappointing summer transfer window for the Midlands club last year, with signings such as Harvey Elliott undoubtedly going down as failures.
Villa have endured difficulties when it comes to managing their finances and managing profit and sustainability regulations, which has somewhat limited them in the market at times.
Aston Villa Eyeing Liverpool Star
Curtis Jones
According to a report from talkSPORT, Aston Villa are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones ahead of the summer transfer window.
Jones is considering leaving Anfield after 16 years with the Merseyside club, due to being frustrated with his lack of playing time this season.
Other sides are showing an interest in securing the signature of Jones, while Inter Milan were keen on the England international during the January transfer window.
The Reds are planning a rebuild in the summer after a disappointing season in the Premier League, meaning Jones could be heading through the exit door.
Aston Villa Don't Have Much Luck From Liverpool
Harvey Elliott
Aston Villa might be a little wary of signing a player from Liverpool after their experience with Elliott this season.
Unai Emery has given him just 112 minutes in the Premier League this term, starting just once in England's top flight.
It's certainly been a failed loan move so far, despite the England youth international showing plenty of promise during his time at Liverpool.
The Villans will be hoping that Jones follows a different path if they do decide to pursue his signature in the summer transfer window, but it might not be easy to win the race considering there is plenty of competition to prise him away from Anfield.
