Eduardo Conceicao has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in recent weeks, with several top European clubs tracking the Brazilian prospect.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are all competing for the Palmeiras left winger. The Reds, along with Arsenal, Chelsea, and City, have already made contact with his representatives.
However, he cannot move to Europe until December 2027, when he turns 18. According to ESPN, Manchester City are currently leading the race and are pushing to accelerate negotiations to fend off rival interest, particularly from Premier League clubs.
Their aim is to reach an early agreement, with a fee in the region of €40m being discussed – similar to what other English sides are prepared to offer.
Barcelona, who had previously cooled their interest, have now re-entered the race. City’s strong relationship with Palmeiras, built through past deals for players such as Gabriel Jesus and Vitor Reis, is seen as a key advantage.
With no urgency to sell due to their financial stability, Palmeiras are only expected to consider a deal if a significant offer arrives.
Eduardo Conceicao is with Brazil at the South American Under-17 Championship. He wears the number 10 shirt and has been one of the standout players in the tournament.
Despite being just 16, Conceicao has already been featuring for Palmeiras’ under-20 side since the age of 15. He could soon make the step up to the senior squad under Abel Ferreira following Brazil’s U17 campaign.
João Paulo Sampaio, coordinator of Palmeiras’ youth academy, earlier confirmed that the club have already rejected substantial offers for the teenager, with most of the bids coming from English sides.
Speaking to ESPN’s ‘Fala a Fonte’ program, Sampaio said: “Allan is on that list [of upcoming major sales]. We’ve already received bids in the range of €30m to €35m, so it’s going to be a significant sale.
“Then there’s a 16-year-old boy from our academy, Eduardo, who is about to play in the U-17 South American Championship for the national team; we’ve also received two offers for him between €20m and €25m, excluding bonuses. So, in my view, these two will really bolster our finances.”
Conceicao signed his first professional contract in January, which runs until 2029 and includes a €100m release clause for clubs outside Brazil.
Conceicao has impressed for Palmeiras’ Under-20 side, registering five goals and three assists in 13 appearances so far. His playing style has drawn comparisons with other top Brazilian talents such as Estêvão and Endrick, with many believing he is on track for a high-level career.
