Two visitors to Liverpool were reunited with a lost mobile phone after leaving it in a hackney carriage following a Liverpool FC match, in an incident highlighted by Liverpool City Council’s licensing team.
According to a statement shared by LCC Licensing, officers worked with the driver to quickly trace and return the device, describing the episode as an example of service standards within the city’s taxi trade.

The council said: “After leaving a phone in a Hackney Carriage following a LFC game, Licensing Officers worked quickly with the driver to reunite them with it.” The authority added it was “a great example of honesty and customer care.”
