Liverpool have had their eye on versatile Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Mateus Mane for a while now.
Mane has been linked to the Reds since the 2026 January transfer window, when a move did not come to pass.
Reports in February then mentioned that Manchester United had joined the race for the youngster, while a fresh insight says the forward is going to be one of the players Wolves let leave this summer.

Wolves expected to let Mateus Mane leave in summer
Rob Edwards’ side have now officially been relegated and will spend the 2026/27 campaign in the Championship.
As is the case with most sides who go down, it means the Midlands outfit are going to move on some of their bigger names, Mane included.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, journalist Bruno Andrade named four players whom Wolves are going to let depart over the coming months.
They are Andre, Joao Gomes, Santiago Bueno, and Mane, with it suggested a move back to Portugal could be on the cards for the Liverpool target.

The teenager played against Liverpool earlier this season and earned high praise from Edwards at the time, who called him ‘excellent’.
He said: “Mane I thought was excellent throughout the game, so him moving inside then caused them a lot of problems, and we found him a lot in between the lines, and he was able to create.
“I thought his energy was brilliant, his running was brilliant, but he was brave; he took the ball; he was a real shining light in what was obviously a difficult period for the club at the moment.
“He took risks, he had shots, he dribbled, he turned and played forward. But not only that, he showed real desire to run and fight as well.”
You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

Liverpool may want to look away from Mateus Mane
While Liverpool’s interest in the 18-year-old has been known for a while, he may not be what they need right now.
In 2025/26, the Wolves gem has played the majority of his games as a central attacking midfielder (17), a position which Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai can already cover.
He is a capable centre-forward as well, so coming in as cover for Hugo Ekitike would make some sense.
But Liverpool may be better served signing an out-and-out striker who has more of an eye for goal.
