"He'll be sold..." - Agent makes massive call regarding "special" Liverpool player's future

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott will be “sold” by the club at the end of the season, according to a big claim from former agent Bryan King.

Arne Slot decided that Elliott was surplus to requirements at Anfield last summer, having struggled to make him a key figure in the Premier League-winning season.

The 23-year-old was loaned out to Aston Villa for the whole of the 2025/26 campaign, but it has been a hugely disappointing spell for him, even though the Villans have thrived.

Elliott has been limited to just one start in the league all season, and only three substitute appearances, and he will now return to Liverpool when the campaign is done.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, King claimed that Liverpool will opt to sell Elliott permanently in the summer, talking up a move to Leeds United:

“I didn’t think he was an Aston Villa-type player anyway. He’ll go back to Liverpool, and I imagine he’ll be sold in the summer. There will be clubs that want him and will be suited to him more than others. Leeds is the sort of place that he would feel at ease. He could end up there for sure.”

Can Harvey Elliott resurrect his Liverpool career?

For some Liverpool fans, Elliott should never have been loaned out in the first place, with the versatile midfielder arguably missed throughout his disappointing season for the Reds.

But it seems clear that Slot doesn’t rate him too much compared to Jurgen Klopp, or former manager Scott Parker for that matter, who once described him as a “special talent” as a teenager.

For that reason, a permanent exit from Liverpool feels like the right outcome for boyhood Reds supporter Elliott, but it should be done with a heavy heart by the club.

He is such a big talent, but his lack of physicality has always worked against him, and he would be better off being a regular starter elsewhere, rather than a backup option to the likes of Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai in the No.10 role.

This is now a key point in Elliott’s career, who at 23, needs to settle down and be a force for a side, rather than just a young footballer with lots of potential.
