10 fastest Premier League players in 25/26 revealed - Liverpool star and Man Utd ace feature

The 2025/26 Premier League season is reaching its business end, and there's still a lot to play for at both ends of the table.

The title race is turning out to be one of the most intriguing ever, with Arsenal and Man City locked on 70 points with five matches remaining.

At the other end of the table, Tottenham Hotspur are in serious danger of being relegated alongside Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers. The north London side are in a relegation battle with West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

With the London Marathon taking place this weekend, Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and revealed the 10 fastest players in the Premier League this season, as well as the 10 slowest.

Erling Haaland Among 10 Fastest

Manchester City's Erling Haaland warms up to face Chelsea

Daniel James has been one of the fastest players in English football ever since making his debut for Swansea City in 2016. He has recorded a top speed of 36.13 km/h this season, making him the 10th quickest player in England's top tier.

Jeremine Frimpong arrived at Liverpool last summer with the reputation of a speed demon. He was the seventh-fastest player in the Bundesliga during the 24/25 campaign. His top speed of 36.18km/h makes him the ninth-fastest player in England's top tier this season.

Erling Haaland also features in the top 10, as does Chelsea's Pedro Neto and Manchester United's Bryan Mbeumo.

Newcastle United are having a dismal season, but three of their players crack the top 10. Anthony Gordon (7th), William Osula (6th) and Anthony Elanga (3rd) are among the Premier League's fastest players right now. The latter makes the top three despite being one of the worst signings made by Premier League clubs in the 25/26 campaign.

Tottenham and Wolves haven't had a lot to shout about this season. Despite that, Spurs' Destiny Udogie (36.41 km/h) has been the second fastest player in the Premier League this season, while Wolves' Jackson Tchatchoua has been far and away the quickest, reaching a top speed of 37.3 km/h.

The Cameroonian star has established himself as the third-quickest player in Premier League history, behind Micky van de Ven and Kyle Walker.

Opta have also revealed the 10 slowest players in the Premier League this season. Players who have played under 900 minutes have been omitted, as have goalkeepers. Every player that features is a centre midfielder, where speed isn't everything.

Adam Wharton, who is eyeing a place in England's World Cup squad, is among the slowest players in the Premier League this season, recording a top speed of 30.84 km/h.

He is followed by Brighton's Pascal Gross, Burnley's Florentino Luis and West Ham duo Tomas Soucek and Freddie Potts.

Bernardo Silva and Casemiro have both received rave reviews this season despite being into their 30s. Silva, who will leave Man City this summer after nine years at City, and Casemiro, who is departing Man Utd, both make the top five.

Nottingham Forest's Nicolas Dominguez is the third slowest, while Arsenal's Mikel Merino's top speed of 28.94 km/h makes him the Premier League's second-slowest outfield player.

Will Hughes of Crystal Palace has been named the slowest outfield player in the Premier League, recording a top speed of 29.54 km/h. Despite this, he has played a key role for Palace this season, featuring in 29 of their 34 Premier League matches.
