'Gets results': Jamie Carragher warns former West Ham boss could drag them deeper into trouble

Jamie Carragher has explained how David Moyes could worsen West Ham’s Premier League survival hopes.

Moyes will return to the London Stadium on Saturday as Everton take on the Hammers in a must-win game for both teams.

The Toffees have a realistic chance to qualify for European football next season, while West Ham are in a relegation battle.

Moyes now has the opportunity to push Nuno Espirito Santo’s side closer to the Championship this weekend.

How should David Moyes be remembered at West Ham? 💭

European trophy winner? Boring football? Or something else? 🤔

Jamie Carragher predicts draw between West Ham and Everton

Carragher expects West Ham to draw at home to Everton on Saturday, with Moyes’ experience being the key factor.

Moyes spent six seasons in East London across two spells and famously won the Europa Conference League in 2023.

The Scotsman could soon deal his former club a significant blow by taking points from them in their relegation fight.

“I just think David Moyes knows the club,” Carragher said. “He knows that stadium. He’ll know most of the players. He’ll go back there. David Moyes just gets results.

“He went to Brentford last week, got a little draw. I can just see them making it difficult, and David Moyes knows his way around the Premier League, as obviously Nuno does as well.

“I just think going back to West Ham, knowing the club, knowing the set-up, everything about it, I think he’ll be able to come away with a point.”

While a point against Everton would ordinarily be a decent result, the Hammers will feel like they need to win this game.

With Tottenham likely to beat 20th-placed Wolves this weekend, Spurs will overtake West Ham if they do not beat Everton.

Jamie Carragher says West Ham need 40 points! Do you agree? 🤔

The Hammers also face two difficult fixtures against Brentford (away) and Arsenal (home) in the next fortnight.

Therefore, a victory over Everton is necessary to keep them in the driving seat ahead of Spurs for the time being.
