Liverpool will soon have a decision to make over one of their homegrown stars.
It’s fair to say it’s been a mixed bag this season for the players the Reds sent out on loan. The likes of James McConnell and Lewis Koumas fared badly in the first half of the season while Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas have been struggling.
But there is one success story.
Luca Stephenson, 22, has again been impressive on loan at Dundee United. Having spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Tannadice the midfielder-cum-right-back signed a new deal at Anfield last summer before heading back north of the border.
The former Sunderland trainee has again enjoyed a brilliant stint - even captaining Jim Goodwin’s side for one league fixture.
