Liverpool told to move on from player with zero "top four Premier League qualities"

**Jan Molby has made a huge critique of Jeremie Frimpong and what he offers at Liverpool as the end of the speedster’s first season at the club approaches.**

When Liverpool announced that Trent Alexander-Arnold was joining Real Madrid, it was obvious there would be a major stylistic change at Anfield, given the Scouser’s incredible passing ability.

Few anticipated just how big a loss he would be. While Alexander-Arnold has floundered at Madrid to an extent, his talent and confidence bordering on arrogance is missed. He was able to define games from deep, and Liverpool look drastically different without him.

By comparison, Frimpong is miles from the standard now expected at Anfield but it’s really not his fault. He’s a good player, but Liverpool have simply become used to world-class standards at fullback after Trent and Andy Robertson played together for nine years.

Jan Molby tells Liverpool that Frimpong is not good enough

----------------------------------------------------------

Retired Liverpool legend Jan Molby has seemingly had enough of Frimpong at right back, doling out some harsh criticism after the Merseyside derby.

_“I struggle with it, and I’ve had that problem for a while,”_ Molby said. “_It’s only natural that football fans wish new players to do well, and Frimpong only had to do one thing and people would go ‘he’s getting better you know.’”_

_“I’ve always been a little bit critical, because look beyond his pace and then tell me where are the top four Premier League qualities. I don’t see it._

_“You’ve got to be able to look after yourself, to be physical, to play, and I just can’t see in what world that what turns this around is Frimpong and his pace. I can’t have that.”_

Liverpool do not view Frimpong as a right back with reported permanent position change incoming

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool need to be in the market for a new right back in the summer,

He said: _“Liverpool need a right-back, they have fudged a few things there, they gave Conor Bradley his chance, he got another injury._

_“Jeremie Frimpong has done all right actually. I think he has done OK._

_“But for me, I think Frimpong should be the back-up right-winger to the one that we buy in the summer. And I think Conor Bradley can fight with a new right-back that comes in.”_
