Curtis Jones’ future at Liverpool is uncertain, with the midfielder set to enter the final year of his Anfield contract by the summer. The 25-year-old is understood to be frustrated by his limited role under Arne Slot this season.

Jones has made 44 appearances in all competitions, but only 13 have been Premier League starts. He has been used sparingly in comparison to teammates such as Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who have all accumulated significantly more league minutes.

Despite his reduced role during his time at Anfield, Jones has still contributed 21 goals in 223 appearances for Liverpool and has won multiple honours, including the Premier League, domestic cups and the Champions League since his debut in 2019.

According to The Daily Mail, Jones is weighing up whether to depart his boyhood club. Aston Villa and Tottenham are both monitoring his situation ahead of the summer window.

Villa are believed to have added the England international to their shortlist, while Spurs would be interested if they avoid relegation under Roberto De Zerbi.

Inter Milan also showed interest during the January transfer window and could return for the midfielder. Jones, a product of Liverpool’s academy, has spent his entire career at Anfield.

Arne Slot has previously revealed that Liverpool will need to raise funds through player sales before making any new signings this summer.

“We are losing Mo and Andy Robertson on a free transfer, as we lost Trent on a free transfer, and this model of the club means that we have to sell, usually, to buy,” he told Amazon Prime after the Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain.

“It’s a big challenge. It was already last season and it’s going to be a challenge in the summer again. But this club has also shown many times that this model works and we can be very successful.

“We have signed very good and talented players. Let’s hope they are all fit, and most of them go into their second season in the Premier League.

Jones was in action on Sunday as Liverpool secured a 2-1 win at Everton to strengthen their push for Champions League qualification. With Jones considering his future, Liverpool will soon have to decide whether to sell him or extend his contract, rather than risk losing him for free in the summer of 2027.

Alexis Mac Allister could also leave Liverpool this summer, with the Daily Mail claiming the Argentinian is among the club’s most saleable assets, while Real Madrid are said to be monitoring his situation. There are currently no talks over a contract extension, although his deal at Anfield runs until 2028.
